Under the Stars is an enchanting outdoor cinema event that brought the magic of Indonesian storytelling to life in Melbourne. Set against the historic backdrop of Old Melbourne Gaol, over 400 audience members gathered for a night that celebrated love, culture, and community spirit.

This year’s theme, "Nobar di Bawah Bintang-Bintang Asmara," invited audiences to experience a night of timeless romance and cherished memories. The evening featured a screening of "Love for Sale” (2018) directed by Andibachtiar Yusuf, a beloved Indonesian romantic comedy that captured the spirit of the evening with its heartfelt portrayal of love’s unpredictability.

Beyond the film, Under the Stars offered a full cultural experience. Audiences enjoyed live music and a range of Indonesian culinary delights from various vendors such as Kenangan Snack, Hareruya Pantry, PPIA UniMelb, Jajan by Perspektif, RPP Dodo, and Warung Bang Bobi. Carnival-style games, a photo booth, and mystical tarot readings added to the lively atmosphere, creating moments of connection and joy throughout the night. Adding to the lighthearted spirit of the evening, our roaming "cupid" sparked smiles and spontaneous interactions among the crowd.
