About the event

The Main Screening is the focal point of the whole festival that showcases three specially curated Indonesian films that best represent this year’s theme, namely “Cinema from the Heart of Nusantara”. From heart-felt family dramas to spine-chilling horror, audiences can indulge in a diverse range of cinematic experiences that showcase the best of Indonesian cinema during the event’s 3-day span.

- Day 1: 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan (2025) by Yandy Laurens

- Day 2:  Lembayung (2024) by Baim Wong

- Day 3: Perayaan Mati Rasa (2025) by Umay Shahab

Following each screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive Q&A session, moderated by an industry expert. These sessions will feature key members of the film's creative team, including cast members and directors, providing valuable insights into the filmmaking process.

This year, the festival is honoured to welcome a distinguished lineup of guests to the Main Screening. Director Yandy Laurens will join us on Day 1 to discuss his latest work 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan. On Day 2, lead actress Yasamin Jasem will appear for a live Q&A following the screening of Lembayung. Closing the festival on Day 3, Umay Shahab, the actor and director behind Perayaan Mati Rasa, will be present to share his perspectives on the film and his creative journey.

By facilitating in-depth discussions on the film's themes and production journey, these sessions enriched the audience's understanding and appreciation of the storytelling craft while fostering meaningful dialogue between filmmakers and viewers.
