About the event

Our annual Short Film Competition once again opened its doors to filmmakers of all skill levels, welcoming a global array of talents to showcase their creativity. With the aim to nurture and celebrate aspiring filmmakers, submissions were carefully reviewed by a distinguished panel of film critics and industry experts.

This year’s theme, CONTINUUM: Threads of Time, explored the seamless, unbroken flow of memories and experiences that shape our past, present, and future. Through stories of growth, triumphs, and challenges, participants captured the spirit of personal and collective journeys that define the human experience.

Out of 74 incredible submissions from 10 countries, four category winners were selected:

  • Grand Winner: “Daly City” by Nick Hartanto, awarded a $750 AUD cash prize and a screening opportunity at our Post-Competition Seminar and Main Screening. The film captivated the judges with its powerful storytelling, emotional resonance, and outstanding technical execution.

  • Best Cinematography: “Enigma” by Joel Jefferson, recognized for its exceptional visual artistry and creative camera work.

  • Best Script: “Gin Swa” by Erina Adeline Tandian, honored for its outstanding writing and compelling narrative structure.

People’s Favorite: “Payung Nyarang Udan” by Aditya Sanjaya, voted by the audience for its heartfelt story and memorable impact.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and express our gratitude to everyone who participated. Your stories made this year’s competition an unforgettable celebration of creativity, resilience, and the art of storytelling.
